Just went through divorce and now would like to move on. I have found a house closer to work and would like to buy it. However, the ex has completely ruined credit. I think Housing for urban development (hud.gov) has programs to assist low income families with purchasing a house and for closing costs. You can check that out. I'm afraid not. You will most likely have to rent and work to build your credit up again. I know money management sounds like alot of work, it is. But all good things take hard work. You'll be proud of yourself in the long run and have a better edge on life with good credit. Hey, Suse Orman has some great books for women and I'm sure you could check them out of the library.
